Or in other words, Hasselblad 500 80mm@f4 vs Fuji X100v 23mm@f4.

I am in a middle of a crisis: should I keep shooting film or go back fully to digital? I carry most of the time those two cameras. My back is starting to suffer from it. I've had a kind of mental break-through: what I love of the medium format I shot is not the size of the film (6x6cm, it's huge!) but the square format. I always thought that 80mm made a difference in terms of compression, but it actually does not: http://www.hasselbladhistorical.eu/HW/HWequifoc.aspx

They are pretty similar, except for the ratio: the small camera is 3:2 while the big one is 1:1. At the same distance, the perspective is the same. The difference is that the square format allows me to add more context to the photo.

Food for thoughts for a new week to come!
